Bio: The eldest son of two carpenters in the town of Westerwood, Erik doesn’t remember a time when his life didn’t revolve around his baby brother Edwin. Unlike other kids who resented their kid siblings tagging along with them, Erik was always happy to have Edwin follow him around, even if it meant that he had to stop spending time with his friends. The hardest moment in Erik’s life came when, partway through puberty, he realized that most if not all of his new sexual urges were directed at his brother, who he was afraid of hurting. So though he had no particular fighting ability or drive to become a knight, Erik left town to join the order, mostly to put distance between himself and Edwin to keep Edwin safe from him. But Edwin has always been Erik’s weakness, and once Edwin was set on the same career path as him, Erik couldn’t keep him away, and brought his brother on as his squire, telling himself that it was to protect him from what other knights might do to him—all the while knowing it was him that Edwin needed protection from.

• Though as child and teenager Erik wasn’t consciously trying to get Edwin to have sex with him, looking back he realizes now that some of his behaviour was oriented that way unconsciously

Erik has been with Edwin since he was in high school, and has long since ceased to be worried about the ethical problems with that, though he has started to worry that Edwin’s increased polyamory, which Erik has always encouraged, might represent an impending shift in their relationship. When he’s not in class or with his brother, Erik works as a security guard at the local mall, where he tends to let people get away with stuff if he doesn’t think it’s too serious.
